More Names Expected To Be Included In WWE Hall Of Fame Class Of 2011
One of the many selling points for World Wrestling Entertainment‘s annual weekly festivities during the week of WrestleMania includes an induction ceremony for their yearly WWE Hall Of Fame classes. With only two names being announced thus far, and a little over a month away from the event, more should be dropping soon.
While many were led to believe that this year’s class would be World Championship Wrestling themed, with names such as The Fabulous Freebirds and “Double A” Arn Anderson being inducted, word on the street makes this hard to believe.
As we inch closer to “The Worldwide Leader in Sports Entertainment’s” biggest pay-per-view event of the year, several online reports are suggesting that the Legion Of Doom tag team, as well as Abdullah The Butcher, appear to be candidates to be revealed very shortly.
The Legion Of Doom has been considered for quite sometime now, and shouldn’t come to a surprise to anyone. Although Abdullah The Butcher mostly made a name for himself competing overseas and on the independent professional wrestling scene, he remains a draw with his own restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dave Meltzer, of The Wrestling Observer, is also reporting that former WWE Diva Sunny as well as “Bullet” Bob Armstrong will also likely receive the honor in April.
The induction ceremony will take place from The Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, April 2nd, 2011. That is the day before WrestleMania XXVII.
