ForceOfWrestling.Com brings to you its very first FOW Exclusive Interview featuring former ECW/WCW Star Mikey Whipwreck. Enjoy folks, this is first of many.

How does it feel like to be a part of two of the most successful companies in wrestling history in ECW and WCW?

I never really thought about it until I retired and people would email me and tell me thanks for the memories and stuff. It’s pretty cool to look back and see that I was a part of something revolutionary with ECW and something Shitty with WCW. Either way I’ll be remembered which is quite cool actually.

Do you watch WWE or TNA currently? If so, what are your thoughts on either product?

I watch a little of both. I usually DVR everything and I can watch 2 hours of RAW in about 20 minutes, 1 Hour of ECW in about 30 minutes, 2 hours of Smackdown in about 1 hour and 15 minutes and 2 hours of TNA in about 15 minutes. WWE aside from RAW is pretty good. I love Smackdown and ECW is enjoyable too. TNA is pretty much unwatchable most of the times. It’s not effort the guys are putting in the ring it’s the terrible writing and booking.

Who would you consider to be your dream opponent for just one match?

I always wanted to wrestle Mick Foley 1 more time. The one time we got to wrestle I was still the “loser” type character and I think that after turned into the Red-headed pyromaniac I had a lot more confidence in the ring and would have been able to contribute differently to the match instead of20being a “punching bag”. Although Mick did give me a lot of offense during the match I still feel 2-3 years later would have made for a better match.

Who was your favorite opponent to wrestle?

C.W. Anderson and Justin Credible. I just clicked so well with those guys and each match seemed almost perfect. I have to say I loved wrestling Shane Douglas as well. There was one point we worked with each other every night for about a month and he taught me a lot. Really built up my confidence being in there with him and would let me call stuff and he would go along with it. Great guy

What would you consider as your greatest match?

I’d say one of the matches Tajiri and I had with Guido and Mamaluke. I couldn’t tell you which one but we all always seemed to be on the same page. I honestly think some of the matches we had during house shows were better than the ones we had on TV. Somewhere they must exist on tape.

What wrestler(s) did you idolize growing up as a kid?

Randy Savage, Marty Jannetty, Cactus jack and The Ultimate Warrior.

What are some things that you personally noticed as differences in a big company like WCW and a small company such as ECW. Which atmosphere did you enjoy better?

I loved ECW. WCW was great for the paycheck but they had no clue what was going on. ECW was really like a family0D and everyone worked harder to make the product as a whole the best it could be. In WCW everybody was out for themselves and it sucked.

What would you consider your biggest highlight of your career?

Winning the ECW Tag Team tournament with Tajiri. It felt good to come back from the shithole WCW, reinvent myself and make it back on top of ECW. Teaming with Mick Foley was a dream come true and Pinning Steve Austin in Philly was, to me, unbelievable. I was always a big fan of Steve’s and when he came into ECW and wanted to put me over it was an honor and a compliment to what a great guy he really is.

Were you asked by WWE to be a part of their revival of ECW in 2006. And if so, why did you refuse?

Tommy Dreamer had told me they wanted me to be involved and work matches with Kurt Angle on the house shows but I just wasn’t interested. The 2 one night stand PPV’s were great and all but it wasn;t the same and besides my body was too beat up to really work a fulltime schedule.

Thoughts on Tommy Dreamer’s recent ECW Title win, even though its apart of Vince McMahon’s NEOECW (Sabu’s words, not mine)?

It’s good for Tommy. I’m glad they keep him around. He’s got such a great mind for the business and nobody loved ECW more then Tommy. He deserves everything he has.

Any mistakes you have made in your 20 year career that you wish you can go back in time to undo?

I wish that when I was hurt I took the needed time off and got the recommended surgery instead of having the I’m hardcore attitude. It definitely took a lot of years off my career.

Any advice for anyone aspiring to be in the wrestling business ?

Get a good teacher (me, lol) and keep your mouth shut and your ears open. Have an education for a background because odds are you won’t be making it and will need a career to fall back on. I know that sounds harsh but it’s true. Very few guys make it in the business where they can make a living.

Any last, thoughts on the recent death of Mitsuharu Misawa?

Tragic. Apparently he had serious neck injuries that were never addressed and that last bump killed him. The greatest wrestler in the world in the mid to late 90’s. I wish the attitudes of I need to fight through the pain would go away because he would still be with us today. And god only knows how many other guys would still be around. Terrible loss for the wrestling world and for his friends and family. Hopefully NOAH can carry on without him.
