MVP Talks On New Entrance Theme, Chris Benoit, Bret Hart/WWE Deal, More - Posted by Wayne Daly on December 18th, 2009

WWE wrestler MVP and WWE diva Eve were on the Rosenberg Radio podcast for 51 minutes talking a number of subjects. The following are some of the more newsworthy topics they talked up.

MVP revealed he’s working on a new entrance theme that he hopes to have ready by Summerslam 2010 if it’s cleared with WWE for licensing purposes. “It’s a long way from being finished and it has to be approved and all that process,” MVP said. MVP said he’s performing the theme personally and he’s working with a Houston-area producer DJ Ice, who has worked with notable hip-hop artist Baby Bash.

At the end of the interview, MVP was asked about the news of Bret Hart signing a short-term deal to return to WWE. MVP downplayed the news so he’s not “on-the-record” acknowledging the news before WWE makes it public. “I’ve heard talk about it, but I don’t know for sure,” he said. “I’ve heard his name mentioned a number of times, but I haven’t heard anything definitive.”

MVP said he’s “still f—– up over” the Chris Benoit tragedy from June 2007. He said they’re not supposed to be talking about the details of what happened, but the tragedy still affects him because he considered Benoit a close, personal friend. “It rips your guts out,” MVP said. “He was my friend and I don’t toss that around lightly. He was my favorite wrestler, my mentor.”

MVP said he thought his original wrestling outfit in WWE was a practical joke because it wasn’t anything like the original design he presented to WWE. He said the original idea was an Under Armour/Nike DryFit athletic uniform, which is what the outfit has evolved into now. “I looked more like a Diva than some of the Divas,” MVP said about the first outfit that drew “Power Rangers” chants. “But, hey, it got heat. The ones I wear now are more of the ones I designed.”

Eve and MVP talked about the tough task the divas are faced with trying to “get across a storyline in half the time” as the male wrestlers. Eve quipped that she’s now in the middle of a storyline “hanging out with bouncing pecs right now.”

MVP revealed that Hornswoggle prefers to be called “a midget” even if that’s not the politically-correct term to use.

The entire interview can be listened to on Rosenberg Radio.
