Report: Linda McMahon Used WWE’s Services For Political Campaign - Posted by Wayne Daly on March 10th, 2010

The Washington Times is carrying an article on how former WWE CEO Linda McMahon used WWE’s talented team over at the company’s television studios to produce and film her advertising campaign for the U.S. Senate. A recent filing by WWE with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission revealed that McMahon hired a media consulting firm which in turn hired WWE at fair-market value to work on the spots. “Mrs. McMahon’s election team engaged the Company to produce certain television advertisements during the initial months of the campaign,” the WWE reported in the SEC filing. “The Company performed these services and charged the campaign the fair-market value for the provided television production services.”

The work that the WWE team carried cost a reportedly $162,000. The media consulting firm is Scott Howell & Co. and “it was them who chose to subcontract to WWE,” McMahon spokesman Ed Patru said. “WWE bills Scott Howell & Co. directly, which in turn pays those bills,” he said. “As Scott Howell & Co. submits reimbursement invoices to the campaign, we pay those bills.” The same SEC filing also notes that McMahon rented office space from the WWE for two and a half months, for which the company received a fair-market value of $23,000.
